Poor, poor Morroc.

Yep, that's right folks--this winter, Episode 12 hit the (LEGITIMATE) International Ragnarok Online servers. They gave some time after their announcement so that people could do the Dandelion's Request ... quest; since that quest deals with preventing the very thing that happens in Episode 12, it was going to be permanently removed.

Welp, now the proverbial thousand-ton genie is out of the bottle, and Morroc is a wasteland. Even the Sograt Desert has changed, now the hunting grounds of Surt (AKA Satan Morroc).

And like many, I'm sad to see the town go. For Christmas Day, after being inspired by suggestions from fellow castmate Sniff the Raven and a friend from iRO Chaos, Kiniro, I made this flash short.

There's an additional part I'll be adding shortly after Christmas Day, a few seconds that had to be cut out due to lack of available voice actors--but Kiniro's done them for me, and thus it'll be added. Just not when I first upload this!

Anyway, enjoy, guys, and hold a toast in memory of Morroc. ;_;

EDIT, DECEMBER 27 2008:
There we go. After some irritating interruptions involving a mandatory visit to relatives, I managed to finish and add the missing voice-acted bit. It's not much, but it does bring the animation a tad closer to being a minute long!

As the revised credits notes, Kiniro of iRO Chaos is responsible for the added lines. He and Sniff the Raven are also the guys responsible for this idea in the first place, from the suggestions between the two of them. :D

Well ... It's been years since I heard that, but I recall seeing something about it on Tokyopop.

It hasn't happened, though. The manwha's still in hiatus.

However, if you were asking in the sense of whether or not RO is a continuation of the manwha's story, it ... apparently is, though I'm not sure how it relates.

Myung-Jin Lee went on record during an interview at a convention saying that the anime, manwha, and MMORPG are all in the same universe. Which is kind of weird to me since the anime and MMORPG are almost nothing like the graphic novels. But, if it's what he says ...

I guess RO and the anime are set in the future, possibly far future. That would help explain why things are so different, though you gotta wonder how he'll explain Gravity tossing in things like pyramids near Morroc ...

Well I was asking about where'd you heard about the manhwa continuing in Korea.

I do wish he'd continue because he knows how to drag a long fight scene and still make it look good. Plus he'll be distracted long enough to leave Morroc alone. ;_;

It's been a while since I played but now I'm wondering what happens to the Guild members of the stronghold in Morroc.

LOL...nice, this fit pretty well. Since I haven't played RO lately I have no idea what Morroc looks like, nor do I think I want to find out. Still, that was awesome. XD

I was sad, too when I heard about/saw what they did to Morroc. ._.

I hear they're going to be doing the same to Payon, and I wouldn't be surprised if it hit other cities. >___>

Man, if Payon goes? All bets are off. D:

The destruction of Morroc is loosely based on stuff from the manwha; if they started trashing cities I'd imagine Prontera would get a visit from a Freya-loyal Valkyrie commanding an army of undead and a floating fortress.

And Payon would get blown up by another Freya-loyal Valkyrie and Nidhogg.

I always suspected that Payon's caves are actually the ruins of the Payon from the Manwha, actually. D:
